Our Story

"A creative home for ceramic souls."
Where Creativity Meets Mindfulness
Clay and Kiln is more than just a ceramics studio—it's a space where art and mindfulness come together. Our story began in 2014, when Pinar, the visionary behind Clay and Kiln, discovered her passion for ceramics in Istanbul, Turkey. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something deeper. Working with clay brought her a sense of peace and inner calm, unlike anything else. Each movement, each touch of the clay, became an act of presence. It wasn't just about crafting beautiful pieces—it was about embracing the meditative rhythm of the process itself.
A Journey of Passion and Purpose
In 2017, Pinar moved to the United States, where life initially pulled her away from ceramics. However, the call of clay was too strong to ignore. She found herself returning to the wheel, experimenting with new techniques and sharing her passion with others. Through teaching, she realized that pottery wasn't just a personal retreat—it was a transformative experience, capable of bringing the same sense of calm, focus, and fulfillment to others.
The Birth of Clay and Kiln
Inspired by the healing power of ceramics, Clay and Kiln was born—a studio dedicated to creativity, personal growth, and wellness through pottery. Here, pottery is not just about shaping clay; it's about shaping moments of tranquility, connection, and self-discovery.
