By using our studio, you agree to follow these guidelines to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Respect Others – Be mindful of other artists and share studio space fairly.
Studio Equipment – Use all tools and equipment properly and return them after use.
Clay & Materials – Only use clay and glazes approved by the studio. Outside materials are not allowed.
Studio Hours – Work only during designated studio hours and clean up before leaving.
Firing Schedule – Pieces must be labeled with your name; the studio determines firing schedules.
Liability – The studio is not responsible for lost or damaged pieces.
No Disruptive Behavior – Loud music, strong odors, or any disruptive actions are not allowed.
Failure to follow studio rules may result in suspension of studio privileges.
At Clay and Kiln, safety is our top priority. All members, students, and visitors must follow these health and safety guidelines to ensure a secure and comfortable environment for everyone.
General Safety
Appropriate Attire – Closed-toe shoes are required at all times. Avoid loose clothing and jewelry, as they can get caught in equipment. Aprons are recommended.
Report Hazards – If you notice any potential hazards, spills, or unsafe conditions, notify a staff member immediately.
Proper Equipment Use – Use all tools and equipment as instructed. Do not modify or alter any studio equipment.
Dust & Air Quality
Clay dust can be harmful when inhaled, so maintaining cleanliness is crucial. To minimize dust levels:
Clean work areas, tools, and surrounding spaces after use.
Dry sanding is not allowed inside – please sand outdoors and wear a dust mask.
Store all dry materials in sealed containers to prevent airborne dust.
Wash your hands thoroughly after handling dry clay or glazes.
Avoid eating or drinking near work areas to prevent accidental ingestion of clay dust.
We use HEPA air filtration to help maintain clean air quality.If you experience discomfort related to dust or clay use, inform a staff member immediately.
Injury Prevention
Sharp Tools & Equipment – Handle knives, carving tools, and other sharp objects with care. Always return tools to their designated storage area after use.
Pottery Wheels – – Be mindful of your hands and clothing when using the wheel. Never force a piece that feels stuck.
Kilns – Only staff members are allowed to operate kilns. Never touch or open a kiln unless instructed.
Chemical & Glaze Safety
Some glazes and ceramic materials may contain chemicals that require careful handling
Follow all instructions and safety precautions when using studio glazes and materials.
Do not mix outside glazes with studio materials unless approved by staff.
Wear gloves if handling raw glaze materials and wash hands thoroughly after use.
Emergency Preparedness
Report any injuries or accidents to a staff member immediately.
Be aware of emergency exits and keep pathways clear.

At Clay and Kiln, we maintain a clean and organized environment for the health and safety of all members, students, and staff. While our team regularly cleans the studio, everyone is responsible for keeping their workspace clean and following these guidelines:
General Cleaning Expectations
Clean up after yourself - This includes wiping down work surfaces, properly disposing of trash, and mopping the floor around your workspace.
Tools & Equipment - All shared tools, brushes, and equipment must be washed thoroughly before being returned to their designated storage areas. Do not leave tools in or near the sinks.
Tables & Workspaces - Wipe down tables with a damp sponge after use.
Wheels & Throwing Areas - After using a wheel, clean the wheel head, splash pan, table, legs, chair, and water bucket. Turn off the wheel, place the pedal, cord, and stool on top, and wipe the floor around it with a wet sponge or mop.
Walls & Surrounding Areas - Any clay splatter on walls or the floor must be cleaned before leaving.
Sinks - After use, wipe down the sink to remove clay residue.
Clay & Waste Disposal
Clay scraps, trimmings, and throwing water must be placed in the designated reclaim buckets-- never in the sink or trash. This prevents plumbing issues and allows for clay recycling.
Do not put anything from the floor or sink into reclaim buckets. Floor scraps should go in the trash.
Additional Guidelines
Always finish cleaning one area before moving to another workspace.
If you spill or make a mess, clean it up immediately. If additional cleaning is needed, notify a staff member.
Report any damage to equipment or facilities right away.

By registering for any service at Clay & Kiln Club, you acknowledge and agree to the policies outlined below.
Classes (8-Week Sessions)
All class registrations are non-refundable once the session has started.
Cancellations made 7 days or more before the first class may be eligible for a studio credit (minus a processing fee).
Cancellations made less than 7 days before the first class are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Missed classes cannot be refunded. Make-up classes may be offered only if space is available and are not guaranteed.
Workshops & Try-It Classes
Workshop and Try-It class registrations are non-refundable.
If you are unable to attend, you may:
- Transfer your spot to another person (with prior notice), or
- Receive a studio credit if you notify us at least 72 hours in advance.
No-shows or late cancellations are not eligible for refunds or credits.
Memberships
Memberships are billed on a monthly / yearly auto-renewal basis.
To cancel a membership, written notice is required at least 30 days prior to the next billing date.
Once a billing cycle has started, that month is non-refundable, regardless of studio usage.
Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Open Studio Passes & Packages
Open Studio passes and packages are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Open studio time is intended for experienced users only and does not include instruction.
Only clay purchased from Clay & Kiln Club may be used in the studio.
Clay, Tools & Retail Purchases
All clay, tools, and retail purchases are final sale.
No refunds or exchanges are offered on opened or used materials.
Gift Cards
Gift cards are non-refundable and have no cash value.
Gift cards may be used toward eligible studio services before their expiration date.
Studio Closures & Schedule Changes
Clay & Kiln Club reserves the right to close the studio for maintenance, deep cleaning, holidays, or unforeseen circumstances.
Closures will be communicated in advance whenever possible and reflected on the Wodify schedule.
Studio closures do not qualify for refunds.
Acknowledgment
By registering for classes, workshops, memberships, or open studio time, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.
Finished pieces must be picked up within 2 weeks of completion notification. Due to limited shelf space, Clay & Kiln Club cannot store work beyond that timeframe. Pieces not retrieved within 2 weeks will be discarded without compensation.
